How topics and products are chosen

The Scuba Forge Editorial Team starts with what readers need. A topic makes the list when it is likely to help someone choose or understand dive gear and when people are searching for it. For product guides we also check availability, because a recommendation for something nobody can buy is of little use. The subject area is scuba diving gear, with a focus on masks, fins, regulators, dive computers and lights.

How research is done

We work from manufacturer specifications, public product information and aggregated buyer feedback. There is no lab testing and no hands-on testing involved. No one on the team dives with these products for the site. A Scuba Forge page therefore reports what has been published and what owners say, and readers should treat it as research rather than as a field report.

Drafting and review

Drafts are written with AI writing tools, which is a normal part of how the site operates. Every page is then reviewed by our editorial team before publishing. Reviewers check that statements match the sources, that specifications are given with a clear origin and that the wording does not sound more certain than the evidence allows. Because diving involves safety, we also avoid phrasing that could be read as instruction or as a promise about how gear will perform.

Commissions and independence

Scuba Forge earns affiliate commissions through links to Amazon, as the Affiliate Disclosure explains. Those commissions never decide what is recommended. A product earns a place on a page because of the research, and a link that pays nothing is handled the same way as one that does. Drawbacks that owners report stay in the text.

Updating content

Dive equipment is revised regularly, so pages need fresh attention from time to time. The team revisits a page when a manufacturer replaces a model, when a specification is corrected or when a reader points out a problem. We do not claim that every page follows a fixed schedule, so it is wise to confirm important details with the manufacturer or the store.

Reporting an error

If you find a mistake, email editorial@scubaforge.com with the page address and a note about what is wrong. We compare it with the manufacturer’s information and correct the page when the report holds up. You can learn more about the site on the About Us page.
